Why Buy the Primera LX500 Label Printer?

Primera's LX500 Label Printer uses high-yield, tri-color ink cartridge which keeps cost per label low. The Fast print speeds and an optional built-in guillotine-style cutter allow users to quickly and easily print and reduce their short-run labels. The LX500 also accepts label stock which may be cut with the discretionary built in cutter, which makes it perfect for creating visitor, convention and meeting badges. It is also a great to use for private labeling, test marketing, pre-press proofing and retail outlets tagging.

  • Professional Printing Quality - 4800 dpi printing supplies incredibly bright and vibrant outcomes.
  • Versatile printer that's perfect for short-run product tagging.
  • Quick installation and simple to operate.

The Primera LX500 is among the greatest color dye label printers on the marketplace in terms of print quality and value because they have the cheapest printer cost. It prints on LX500 Label Rolls at a resolution of 4800 dpi. However, it's slow, and the ink costs becomes very expensive if you publish more than a few hundred labels each month.

With this compact unit, it comes down to volume and size. If you just have to publish, say, 500 labels per month, and your labels measure less than 4 inches, then this is a great little high resolution, full color label printer. However, if you are planning to produce more labels down the road, I would suggest checking out the Epson TM-C3500.

The Primera LX500 label printer provides numerous advantages including:

  • Great for short label runs like private labeing and test marketing
  • Small, compact dimensions as it doesn't take much real estate on your desk
  • Prints up to 4" wide labels
  • 4800 dpi high resolution full-color printing

Primera LX500 Ink consumption

After about 100 labels (4 x 3 inches, at mid quality) our ink cart usage is at 50%. With half of the ink gone in 3 days after purchasing tiny tri-color ink cart. After our calculations with this printer we were spending about 30 cents per label. Of course, everyone's label designs have different requirements, but we found this printer to really consume ink, A LOT.

The unit has a pass through in the back where you could load labels from a larger core roll from a stand. The first label will be a waste, as it scans for gaps and edge. It's nice, that it uses an optical sensor to check for the edges and gap, which you can fine tune in the driver.

If you have one kind of label, and rarely change, and need them fast. this is the printer for you. Otherwise, spend a few dollars more for an Afinia L501 or Epson TM-C3500.

LX500 CONCLUSION

The LX500 is a exceptional label printer that is ideal for operations that require a print on demand tag or that print modest batches of tags as new products come out. If you are looking extremely durable, cheap, color tagging that is the printer for you.
